⛵2026 AMYA Soling 50 National Championship Coming to San Diego

The 2026 AMYA Soling 50 National Championship will be held at the San Diego Model Yacht Pond on August 29–30, 2026, with an optional practice day on Friday, August 28.

Hosted by the San Diego Argonauts, the event will bring together many of the nation’s top Soling 50 skippers for a weekend of competitive racing on Mission Bay.

Registration is limited to 20 competitors. The entry fee is $65 through August 17, increasing to $75 until registration closes on August 20. Competitors can pay online via Square at: https://square.link/u/3VbFtz1x.

We look forward to welcoming sailors from across the country to San Diego for another outstanding weekend of RC sailing.

Points Day Results – ODOM’s & Soling 50’s (Jan 10th, 2026)

Perfect San Diego conditions for our first day of Points racing in 2026! Despite the Santa Ana winds that were forecast, we had sunny, 70 degree weather with light to moderate westerly winds.

RD Chris Davidson chose medium courses for the Odom Class which started off the days racing. Chris added a wrinkle to the Rules: The windward and leeward marks were ‘Cold’ (you could touch them, as long as you got around them on the correct side). This resulted in friendlier racing with not a single protest or complaint.

Commodore Emeritus Tom Warren started 2026 with 4 consecutive bullets including a perfectly executed Port Start. Well done, Tom!

The Solings were up next as the breezes became lighter and a bit more shifty. Chris Davidson selected a combination of medium and short courses.

Points Day Results – ODOM’s & Soling 50’s (Nov 8, 2025)

Beautiful ‘Sun Diego’ weather with light variable winds met the Odom Class for November Points racing with RD Ben Reeve:

2nd Place was an EXACT tie between Tom Warren and Kerim Baran. They each had the exact same finishes between them!

The Solings were next with RD Steve Ross:

Tight racing on shorter courses as the winds died led to several lead changes despite the small fleet.
