Sailboats, Scale Boats, Powerboats
Our club is organized into three main divisions –Sailboats, Scale Boats, and Powerboats. While each division follows a general pond schedule, they also host unique and exciting events throughout the year that may take priority. For a full list of activities, visit our Calendar page.

Sail Division
Our Sail Division usually gathers on Saturdays 12PM-4PM and Wednesdays 11AM-2PM.
The four most popular sailboats include the DF 95, Soling 50, One Design One Meter (ODOM), and International One Meter (IOM).

Scale Division
Our Scale Boat Division prides itself on building and running scale boats and ships on Saturday mornings.
Boats on the pond range from elaborate, scratch-built, museum-quality models to customized ready-to-run boats. While electric power is most common, we have a number of steam enthusiasts as well.

Power Division
Our Powerboat Division usually takes the Pond on Sunday mornings.
San Diego Pond has a long history with scale nitro boats which run on a mixture of methanol, castor oil, and nitro-methane. However, most of today’s power boats have electric motors.
